Temple of Leah - Everything You Need to Know

    February 01, 2017

Here's something about Temple of Leah in their Facebook page:

"This Temple was constructed in the year 2012 A.D. as a symbol of my undying love for her and my ceaseless devotion to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna, my wife of 53 years. I adopted an architectural and structural design that can withstand time and still be appreciated for a millennium so this Temple will become a landmark of Cebu City where future generations of the Adarna clan coming from her can come and trace their roots and heritage. All her lifetime collections are showcased in the 24 chambers of this Temple principally for the members of our family who cherish her memory."

How to go to Temple of Leah?

Now we know why this grandiose temple of love was made, let's start answering some basic questions such as how to go to Temple of Leah by commuting? Starting point of your adventure to the temple is J.Y Square, which is located at No. 1 Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City.

It's easy to get to J.Y Square from SM City, Ayala, or Colon as most of the jeeps coming from these locations pass by J. Y. If your coming from SM City, ride the jeep 04L; for those coming from Ayala, ride 04M at the jeepney terminal. For those coming from Colon, ride the jeepney 17B, 04B, 17C, 04C, and 04I. Tell the driver to drop you at J.Y Square.

Once at  J.Y. Square, ride a habal-habal (motorcycle) to Temple of Leah. Motorcycles can only cater to two passengers at a time. The fare for one person, one way, is P75.00 per person, with a waiting fee of P50.00.

Shuttle Service to Temple of Leah

For group tours, you can find Temple of Leah shuttle service. The shuttle parks at McDonald's near J.Y. Square. The fare for the shuttle is P400.00 which covers 10 persons. The shuttle service schedule is from 9 AM to 8 PM only, but I'm not sure if there's a daily shuttle.

    Operating Hours

We decided to visit this Cebu City tourist spot at night because we wanted to see a different view of the place. And yes, you read that right, Temple of Leah is always open. They operate 24/7 and I strongly suggest you stay there longer and get a view of the city lights.

    Entrance Fee

As of 2017, the entrance fee at Temple of Leah is P50.00

    Verdict

I think I wouldn't enjoy the view if we went there at daytime. First, there'd be a lot of other visitors roaming around so we won't be able to get a photo of the spaces in the temple without any photo bombers. Second, the lights were really romantic and it's something I enjoy watching.

I was a bit dismayed because we weren't able to see even one room inside the temple. I was excited to visit the site because I saw some photos taken inside their library and other rooms, but everything was locked. I hope that, once it's finished, they'll open some of the rooms to the guests, too, for viewing.

I hope you find this helpful. Here are some of the photos we took, enjoy!
